Dr. Borzio

Dr. Frank Borzio, V.M.D.
Dr. Borzio received his Veterinary Medicine Doctorate from the University of
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA in 1972 and founded Northside Animal Hospital
in 1975. Dr. Borzio has served as Chief Veterinarian for
the Staten Island Zoo. The
New York City Veterinary Medical Association awarded Dr. Borzio
“Veterinarian of the Year” for the year 2000.
Dr. Borzio's family consists of hIs wife, two sons and
Cody,
Karly and
Kady, West
Highland Terriers. He is an active Boy Scout Leader and in the rest
of his spare
time, he cares for his working farm. It includes 25 sheep, and has 5 ponds where Dr. Borzio raises
over 2,000 of the
following breeds of fish; Catfish, Pike, Bass, Koi, and hybrid
Striped Bass.

Dr. Salemi

Dr. Mark Salemi, D.V.M.
Dr. Salemi earned his D.V.M. from Ross University School of Veterinary
Medicine. He joined the staff at Northside in 1987 and became co-owner
in 1991. The
New York City Veterinary Medical Association awarded Dr. Salemi
“Veterinarian of the Year” for the year 2003.
Dr. Salemi has served on the New York City Veterinary Medical Association Executive Board
as an officer and liaison since 1998 and as its president in 2002.
He is also an Executive Board Member of the NYC Veterinary Disaster Preparedness
Committee, also known as the New York City VERT (Veterinary Emergency
Response Team). Participating Veterinarians are available
to respond in
emergency situations at any time of the day for any future
incidents, be they natural or man-made.
Dr Salemi’s family consists of his wife Ann, daughter Marissa, son
Nicholas and 3
cats; Pookie, Pesto, and
Stitch. An avid scuba diver and dive master,
Dr. Salemi loves to travel to far off places involving getting close to nature.
He has also been known to moonlight as Santa.

Dr. Joseph Augello, D.V.M.
Dr. Augello earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wagner College.
In 2007 he earned his Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, St. Kitts, West Indies. He
completed his clinical year with rotations at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine (2006-2007) and an
externship at New Jersey’s Red Bank Animal Hospital in Dentistry and Exotic medicine.
A native Staten Islander, Dr. Augello's family consists of his fiancée
Jessica, J.J the Yorkshire Terrier, African Grey Parrot
named
Charlie and 3 Bearded Dragons. Dr. Augello’s special interests include
ultrasound and avian/exotic medicine.
Dr. Augello joined Northside Animal Hospital in June 2007.
