Mark Salemi, D.V.M.
Dr. Salemi earned his D.V.M. from Ross University School of Veterinary
Medicine. He joined the staff at Northside in 1987 and became co-owner
in 1991. The
New York City Veterinary Medical Association awarded Dr. Salemi
Veterinarian of the Year for the year 2003.
Dr. Salemi has served on the New York City Veterinary Medical Association Executive Board
as an officer and liaison since 1998 and as its president in 2002.
He is also an Executive Board Member of the NYC Veterinary Disaster Preparedness
Committee, also known as the New York City VERT (Veterinary Emergency
Response Team). Participating Veterinarians are available
to respond in emergency situations at any time of the day for any future
incidents, be they natural or man-made.
Dr Salemi's family consists of his wife Ann, daughter Marissa, son
Nicholas and 2 cats;
Pesto, and
Stitch.
An avid scuba diver and dive master,
Dr. Salemi, an avid divemaster, loves to travel to far off places involving getting close to nature.
He has also been known to moonlight as Santa.
